UNDERSTANDING 4 CM²

See what 4 cm² means.

The window covers about a 2 × 2 cm square (roughly 0.8 × 0.8 in)—still compact for localized areas, with twice the area of UV308A.

OUTPUT & DOSE

Convert dose to time.

The same time delivers a different dose on the 25 and 35 mW/cm² versions. Always use the output printed on your exact device.

CONVERSION FORMULA

Time (s) = Dose (mJ/cm²) ÷ Irradiance (mW/cm²)

1 mW/cm² × 1 second = 1 mJ/cm²

Selected example 100 mJ/cm² ÷ 25 mW/cm² = 4.0 s
CURRENT SELECTION 25 mW/cm²

The matching example and table column are highlighted. Confirm this output is printed on your device.

Illustrative conversion examples

Not treatment recommendations
Example dose 25 mW/cm² selected 35 mW/cm² selected
100 mJ/cm² 4.0 s 2.9 s
150 mJ/cm² 6.0 s 4.3 s
250 mJ/cm² 10.0 s 7.1 s

Use only a clinician-selected or IFU-specified dose. Confirm the output printed on your exact device before calculating time.

Follow the supplied instructions for the user and anyone nearby.

02

Confirm the intended area

Protect surrounding skin and expose only the selected localized area.

03

Check output and time

Use the settings for your exact model—never copy timing from another device.

04

Check the skin response

Pause and ask a qualified professional if discomfort or persistent redness occurs.

FAQ & EVIDENCE

UV308B FAQs.

Clear answers about UV308B use, settings and safety.

What size of area is UV308B designed for?

Its treatment window is 4 cm²—about a 2 × 2 cm square. It is intended for small, clearly defined areas where you want more coverage per placement than the 2 cm² UV308A, while still keeping the device compact. For large or many separate areas, a wider-window device may be more efficient.

What changes between the 25 and 35 mW/cm² versions?

Both versions use the same 308nm wavelength, 4 cm² window and eight-LED design; the irradiance is different. For an example dose of 100 mJ/cm², the calculated time is 4.0 seconds at 25 mW/cm² and 2.9 seconds at 35 mW/cm². Always calculate with the output printed on your device.

Can I use a universal “30-second” starting time?

No. At the nominal outputs, 30 seconds calculates to 750 mJ/cm² on the 25 mW/cm² version and 1,050 mJ/cm² on the 35 mW/cm² version. This is why a time copied from another model or online schedule can be inappropriate. Use only the dose and schedule in your exact IFU or selected by a qualified professional.

How close should I hold the device?

The current UV308B product guidance specifies a distance of 1–3 cm from the skin. Keep the device steady and the angle and distance consistent. If the instructions supplied with your exact unit specify a different position, follow those instructions.

What skin response means I should stop or delay the next session?

A mild, temporary pink response may occur. If redness is still present before the next session, postpone treatment until it settles. Stop treatment if you develop painful redness, strong burning, swelling or blisters; do not re-expose the area until it has recovered, and seek medical advice for a significant or persistent reaction.

How should I protect my eyes and surrounding skin?

Wear UV-protective goggles and never look directly at the operating light. Expose only the intended area and cover surrounding untreated skin with opaque material when practical, following the UV308B instructions.

Can I take UV308B on business trips or holidays?

Yes, its 120 g rechargeable handheld body is designed to be easy to pack. Keep the device, protective eyewear, IFU and charging cable together in a protective case. Before flying, check the airline’s current rules for carrying rechargeable devices and batteries.
