Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you start
What’s the difference between 308nm and 311nm UVB, and which should I choose?
308nm devices are designed for more targeted treatment of smaller areas, while our 311nm devices provide broader 48cm² coverage. If you are treating a few small, clearly defined areas, 308nm may be easier to position precisely. For larger or multiple areas, 311nm can be more efficient.
How long does UVB phototherapy take to show results?
UVB phototherapy works gradually. Some people begin to notice changes after several weeks of consistent treatment, while vitiligo repigmentation often takes several months. The treatment area also matters: the face often responds faster, while hands and feet usually take longer.
How often should I use a home UVB device?
A common home phototherapy schedule is several sessions per week. For our 311nm BU-series devices, the general guidance is once every other day, around 3–4 times per week. Treatment should be adjusted according to your skin response rather than simply increasing exposure every session.
What skin reaction is normal after UVB treatment?
Mild, temporary pinkness or light redness can occur after UVB treatment. Strong burning, persistent redness, swelling, pain or blistering means the exposure was too high. If this happens, stop treatment and allow the skin to recover before the next session.
What’s the difference between BU-1S, BU-1 and BU-10?
All three are 311nm NB-UVB devices with approximately 48cm² coverage. BU-1S is the simplest one-button model, BU-1 adds built-in timing control, and BU-10 adds an OLED display with physical buttons plus Time and Dose control modes. Choose BU-1S for simplicity, BU-1 for easier timing, or BU-10 for more advanced control.
How long does shipping take, and what warranty do you provide?
Orders are normally processed within 1–3 business days, and standard delivery takes approximately 10 business days after dispatch. YOUWEMED devices are backed by lifetime warranty support for eligible manufacturing and functional issues under normal use.
