A Child's Four-Month Home UVB Journey
A family-documented photo record of the same forehead area from January to May 2026, together with the home phototherapy device used during the routine.
“We wanted something we could continue at home without making every treatment day complicated.”
When we first noticed the lighter patches on our son’s forehead, we took him to see a doctor. That was when we first learned about ultraviolet phototherapy as one of the options used in the management of vitiligo.
Because the routine needed to be continued over time, we started looking for a more convenient way to manage it at home. We searched online for home-use UVB phototherapy devices and came across YOUWEMED.
Following our doctor’s guidance, and with support from the YOUWEMED team on how to use the device, we began taking photos at regular intervals instead of trying to judge the area from day to day. The changes were gradual, but looking back at the earlier and later photos made it much easier for us to understand how the area had changed over time.
For us, being able to continue the routine at home made it easier to fit around school and everyday life. If we could share one thing with another family starting a similar journey, it would be to be patient, keep a simple record, and give the process time.
