FAQs

You have questions, we have answers.

The BU-10 delivers 311nm narrowband UVB light for targeted phototherapy. NB-UVB is commonly used for skin conditions such as vitiligo and psoriasis. Treatment settings should be selected according to the treatment area, skin response, and professional guidance.

Results vary depending on the condition, treatment area, and individual response. For vitiligo, early repigmentation may take several weeks to several months. Areas such as the face usually respond faster, while the hands, fingers, and feet often take longer.

A common schedule is once every other day, around 3–4 sessions per week. The exact frequency should depend on your treatment plan and skin response.

Always check the treated skin before the next session before deciding whether to increase, maintain, or pause the exposure.

A mild, temporary pink or erythema response can indicate that the skin has received a biologically active level of UVB exposure.

The goal is not strong burning. Intense redness, pain, swelling, or blistering usually indicates excessive exposure.

No redness after the first few sessions does not necessarily mean the device is not working, as the starting exposure is usually kept low.

If repeated sessions produce no erythema or other skin response, the exposure time or dose may be gradually increased according to the recommended treatment schedule. Avoid making a large increase at once.

How should I adjust the next session according to the skin response?

Use the previous skin response as a guide:

  • No erythema: gradually increase the exposure according to the treatment schedule.
  • Mild erythema: maintain the previous exposure or increase more cautiously.
  • Moderate or persistent erythema: postpone the next session until the skin has settled.
  • Painful redness, swelling, or blisters: stop treatment and allow the skin to recover before restarting.

Stop UVB exposure and allow the skin to recover completely. Do not continue treating skin that is painful, swollen, strongly red, or blistered.

If the reaction is severe or does not improve, seek medical advice before restarting phototherapy.

Yes. UV-protective goggles are recommended during treatment to protect the eyes from unnecessary UVB exposure.

Do not look directly into the illuminated UVB lamp. Protective goggles are included with the BU-10.

Time Mode allows you to set the treatment according to exposure duration.

Dose Mode allows you to set the treatment according to the required UVB dose.

The BU-10 uses an OLED display with physical button controls, making it easy to review and adjust the selected setting before each session.

The BU-10 uses a Philips PL-S 9W/01/2P UVB lamp with narrowband UVB output around 311nm.

It provides an approximately 48 cm² irradiation area and includes a detachable comb that can help position the light when treating scalp or hair-covered areas.

Well, it arrived, but I couldn't read anything about the lamp's certification in the documents.
In short, to be honest

I received the device in good condition as displayed on the website, and the instructions for use are clear and easy. I am still in the beginning stages of using it to discover its quality and effectiveness. My doctor expressed his admiration for the device and praised it. Your service is good, thank you.
